Moderate wine consumption as part of the wine tourism experience: a workshop organised by EDOAO

Moderate wine consumption as part of the wine tourism experience: a workshop organised by EDOAO

A workshop on the challenges and opportunities in the wine tourism sector with a special focus on PDO-PGI wines and moderate consumption was organised on 18 September in Athens by Wine in Moderation partner EDOAO, the Greek Interprofessional Organisation of Wine & Vine.

The workshop saw the attendance of wine professionals, consumers, wine tourism experts and representatives of the academic community.

Community & Project Manager of Wine in Moderation, Sofia Kottas Bonel, contributed to the workshop through a video, informing attendees about the programme, its beginnings, its mission and principles, as well as the concept of moderation and the drinking guidelines recommended by Wine in Moderation.

All participating speakers recognised the importance of moderate consumption as a crucial part of the wine tourism experience and a cornerstone for the sustainable development of the wine sector in the future.
